New Homes To Be Built With Solar Panels From 2027
The Government Continues Its Net Zero Plans

In line with its net zero plans and target of building 1.5 million new homes by the end of its term, the Government has announced that all new homes built from 2027 will include pre-installed solar panels. The scheme has been met with praise and criticism as it is estimated that this will add around £4000 to the sale price of a new home but it will also save households around £1000 a year in energy bills.
There is good news for existing home owners too as Keir Starmer has also promised grants to be made available for solar panel installation on homes without solar panel technology. Home owners may look to add solar panels to their property to compete with the new homes on the housing market and to also increase the sale price of their home if and when they put their homes up for sale.
