Solar Panel Installation Helps Business Reduce Carbon Emissions And Costs
A local authority has completed a solar panel installation at two of it's leisure facilities to help to reduce energy bills and become greener in it's carbon dioxide emissions.
Two swimming pools at Lower Wick and Perdiswell Leisure Centre have had PV (photovoltaic) panels installed on the roof of the building thanks to Government funding of over a quarter of a million pounds. The impact of the green energy solutions has already resulted in a visible difference in the running costs as they have been reduced since the solar panels were fixed to the roof. In fact, they have already begun to add more solar panels to the leisure centre buildings to maximise the full impact of solar energy.
The installation of solar energy at the leisure facilities is part of a long term plan for the council to reduce energy bills and develop environmentally sustainable buildings that will help both the organisation's finances and reduce the carbon footprint of two buildings that use a lot of energy. It has been predicted by Worcester City Council that the leisure centre's carbon emissions would be reduced by 84 tonnes a year once all the solar panels were in place.
